Where you at 2017?

In the blink of an eye over one thousand days have passed, and where have we been? The blog has been drier than California and the once so steady beat of the war drum has echoed of to a better place. But today, we celebrate the return of the original conquistadores of the mobile platform. Time to resurface.

So what have we done during this era of non-awesomness? Spent ages just walking in circles, “just to make the point”? Becoming the new champions of open source? Doing backstrokes in the good ol’ money bin? Nobody knows, but if you look closely, some apps may have flown under the radar and made the world a slightly less pointless place.

But here we are now, so let us entertain you. In the coming days, weeks, years or maybe never, we will release something so fun, clever and awesome and so god damn innovative that it will change every social gamers life forever. We call it The Future of Gaming. Vasco da Gama. So stay tuned for more news, cuz that thing coming over the hill is a monster. A monster!
In the meantime, check out Flip! One of our kick ass developers has infiltrated a local firm and helped them make a genre defining game. It’s a touch friendly version of one of the few board games that still hasn’t been conquered by the human mind, so the AI here is truly remarkable. Yup, it’s the beloved simulation of the race war: Reversi. You owe it to yourself and your inner demon to check out this baby. It’s free as in free beer, and takes up less space than Top Gun at 4K, so hurry up before its to late! And even though the developers gives it away for free, feel free to buy me a beer next time we meet if you like it.

Our First App

Where to begin? This week has been wild. Some of you may have noticed that our first application, previously known by the code name “Project Mustang”, now known far and wide under the real name “Bang/Buck”, has been accepted by Apple and is on sale at the App Store. If you haven’t bought it yet I suggest you do it before Jonas finds out. He has just had a half bottle of Lanson champagne and doesn’t look happy. Find it here.

The other app we sent in, Project Hollywood, was rejected under unclear circumstances. Anyway we fixed that today and resubmitted it so it will probably be ready pretty soon.

In a Tales from the Wardrobe fashion (also known as filling our corporate blog with everyday nonsense) I’m going to tell you about the lunch we cooked today here at the office. We call it Saumon de Moutard Poire Verts d’Emma avec Bière Rangés les Pommes de Terre. Pics will be up on Flickr soon. We enjoyed it with previously mentioned Lanson and it was delicious.

Anyway we’re writing this from SXSW. Just finished being on a panel about Apple’s new tablet (we know what they’re actually planning since we’re sleeping with some key people at Apple in Cupertino, so we had to keep our faces straight while discussing these stupid rumors with the other clowns in the panel, exhausting.) Last night we had some beer and watched the upcoming act Glasvegas, keep your eyes on them in 2009, will be the Next Big Thing™!

It’s boiling…

Yep, today we sent two of our premium apps to Apple for some kind of reviewing process.  And that means that they will say it’s awesome and release the beast soon. Oh yeah! One of the apps is Project Mustang, our first project and one that you have read a lot about here on the blog. It was battle tested last Wednesday, and after some small changes we decided that it was time to remove its chastity belt. The other app is a project that we named Project Hollywood.  It will be a life saver for many of you, and even though it’s premium, this one will be so cheap that even your mother can buy it.

Yeah, it’s been a pretty awesome day and on our flickr you can see some pictures. Since it was a Monday we drank a nice bottle of Duval-Leroy and listened to Glasvegas. We have some more projects in line for release, Jester and a new one we’re calling Project Charlie. We are super excited about these projects, and we’re sure that this month will be more legendary than SmartSVN’s support.

Tales from the Wardrobe

Red TapeA regular Champagne Monday. We’re jumping through hoops to get our startup registered with the Swedish authorities.

FlowersThe nice tulips we got from Jopsy F. Daisy at the ÖeG Kickoff Party seem a bit tired. Perhaps Jonas gave them too much beer.

Kickoff Party Pics

I’m terribly sorry I didn’t upload these pics any earlier, but I’ve been busy moving out of my apartment and skiing. Anyway, here they are.

Happy new year people!

ÖeG Kickoff Party

A few of you may already have heard, on Monday 22 December at 5 pm ÖeG will have its official inauguration party at our new offices (a.k.a. The Wardrobe) located in Jonas’s residence at Dr. Bex gata 13B in Göteborg. All our fans are of course welcome, please write something in the comments if you want to attend. And link to our blog and write about us on Twitter.

We will also use this event to try to raise some funds for our trip to Riga and the Barcamp Baltics in February. All we ask is that you bring one case of people’s beer, drink it all up and leave the refunds for us.

As it is a Monday it also coincides with our first real Champagne Monday. Depending on the mood we may have a big whiteboard brainstorming session with all the guests and maybe some drunk coding or other Web 2.0 related activities. Jonas has promised to provide some kind of cocktail snacks.

The dresscode is business casual. Please keep in mind pictures from the event will be featured on YouTube and all over Web 2.0 so try to not be ugly.
