Bang/Buck 1.5

It’s been pretty quiet here on the blog lately while we’ve been deep down in the belly of Gothenburg’s nightlife living the Jersey Shore life and building new versions of Nattstad.

Anyway douchebags, just wanted to check in and tell you that our flagship app Bang/Buck got its first major update since the original release in March 2009. So if you’ve been drunk since then and wiped the apps off your phone, go ahead and download it again. And if you’re so cheap you never bought it for 99 cents in the first place, it’s time to make amends: here is the iTunes link.

Happy smart drinking!

We are now also making T-shirt designs.

Wake Up and Smell the Space Age

Smell it man2009 is nearing its end and space is getting hot again. Its basically a cyclical phenomenon. Space, dinosaurs, skateboard, hockey, and knights. Now we’re back in the space age.

Anyway as you all know our last app release, Nattstad, was a raging success and we’re now working hard on the second coming of Jesus, a.k.a Project Mustang 2. Have you guys seen Google Goggles? The Norwegian Yellow pages? Virgin Galactic? Yep, the bar for space age apps is rising. But like Stefan Holm in “På spåret” we’re going to show these clowns how it’s done. Stay tuned space apes.

Where am I?

Spaceshuttle

What’s going on? Why does this look like a “blog”? Why is there no new content?

Have you guys ever even seen space?

Wait… there is something on the horizon. Something is coming now!

Some kind of huge… what is it? Where am I?

Weekly Pitch #1

Here at ÖeG we like to think big, really big. Some of the ideas we discuss while drinking beer and eating good food make us feel like they deserve to be pitched. That’s why we’re starting a series of “Weekly Pitches” that we’re putting up here on the blog.

If you’re an investor and are interested in a particular idea, feel free to send some millions our way. Though we’re mostly doing it to exercise our pitching skills and give you all a window into the world of ÖeG, where nothing is impossible. And of course to throw our ideas out into the world. Perhaps some will get a life of their own and change humanity’s destiny forever.

Anyway. This is our first one. More to come, perhaps on a weekly basis, perhaps not.

Video demo of GOOSE

The cat is out of the bag! During last week’s Mini Seedcamp event we presented GOOSE (formerly known on this blog as Project Goose) to an audience of entrepreneurs, experienced business people and tech investors. We received loads of great feedback, we will write more about the event in a separate post. For now, check out this video demo we created a couple of weeks ago for GOOSE but has so far only been shown to potential customers.

Working vs. Blogging

Sorry the updates here at the development blawgh haven’t been very frequent recently. We’ve been spending our time pushing that Project Goose out whatever orifice it’s supposed to eventually emerge from. And it’s going great. The plan is to be more or less done in the beginning of May and then start working on our list of other projects. But Goose is truly the Ben Hur of apps. A new kind of marriage between reality and cyberspace. In fact it’s so cutting edge I’d call it a gay marriage. We’ll have a lot more info for you in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, please buy our groundbreaking apps Bang/Buck and iQüeüe. Project Jester was Too Hot For the App Store™ initially but we’re working on watering it down for the general public. More as this develops.

And to everyone who think our Spotify playlist is your personal junk heap for music you don’t want to listen to yourself: please stop it. This playlist is the midwife for our creative genius. Only put high-caliber “pepp music” on there. Thanks.

Also don’t forget to check out our Flickr photostream and Twitter for more day-to-day updates about your favorite awesome iPhone development team.

Our Second App: iQüeüe

Önders et Gonas found themselves standing in a queue for an ATM. How long would this take? Subconsciously they both tried to calculate the remaining time in their heads by noticing when people left and how many people were left in the queue, but why use their genious brains for this mundane task?

Thus ÖeG stared long and hard into the eyes of Science and came up with the amazing iPhone application iQüeüe. It’s your weapon against the German synth machine that is society. Take some load off your mind while standing in line and use your brainpower for art, the craft where humans are still needed. Do it before it’s too late or ÖeG will soon find a way to replace you with an iPhone app too.

It’s $0.99 on the App Store and you can read some more about it here.

This app was previously known as Project Hollywood, maybe you remember reading the captivating Tale from the Wardrobe™ on the development of iQüeüe.

Gisele spotted doing some pro bono advertising work for Bang/Buck

Apparently she likes our app. Thanks to Jopsy Daisy for the tip.

Our First App

Where to begin? This week has been wild. Some of you may have noticed that our first application, previously known by the code name “Project Mustang”, now known far and wide under the real name “Bang/Buck”, has been accepted by Apple and is on sale at the App Store. If you haven’t bought it yet I suggest you do it before Jonas finds out. He has just had a half bottle of Lanson champagne and doesn’t look happy. Find it here.

The other app we sent in, Project Hollywood, was rejected under unclear circumstances. Anyway we fixed that today and resubmitted it so it will probably be ready pretty soon.

In a Tales from the Wardrobe fashion (also known as filling our corporate blog with everyday nonsense) I’m going to tell you about the lunch we cooked today here at the office. We call it Saumon de Moutard Poire Verts d’Emma avec Bière Rangés les Pommes de Terre. Pics will be up on Flickr soon. We enjoyed it with previously mentioned Lanson and it was delicious.

Anyway we’re writing this from SXSW. Just finished being on a panel about Apple’s new tablet (we know what they’re actually planning since we’re sleeping with some key people at Apple in Cupertino, so we had to keep our faces straight while discussing these stupid rumors with the other clowns in the panel, exhausting.) Last night we had some beer and watched the upcoming act Glasvegas, keep your eyes on them in 2009, will be the Next Big Thing™!
